What’s with the Hillary hate, people? It’s as outsized and irrational as the visceral reaction almost everyone has toward President Bush. What’s say we take things down a notch and assume for a second that Hillary Clinton isn’t out to destroy the world.

The Why Is She Still Here??? reaction a lot of people are having today is a bit silly, considering no one who has been following this overlong and often annoying contest seriously expected her to close up shop last night. Not when she’s had surrogates like Terry McAuliffe and Howard Wolfson and Harold Ickes etc. etc. sacrificing their very dignity by denying what’s been so obvious to everyone else for months now. I’m expecting McAuliffe to make like Scott McClellan when this is all over and rush out a book in which he explains that the lights were on all this time, but because his bosses were lying to him or he was just confused or whatever he actually believed the sad, sad nonsense that’s been coming from his mouth.
